Mobile Physiotherapy

F. A. Q.

What is physiotherapy?

Your body is made to move. Physiotherapy helps to get it moving!

Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals who combine in-depth knowledge of how the body works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability. With your independence in mind, a physiotherapist’s goal is to restore, maintain and maximize your strength, function, movement and overall well-being. Physiotherapists prescribe personalized therapeutic exercises, and provide essential education about the body, what keeps it from moving well, how to restore mobility and independence, and how to avoid or prevent bodily harm.

Do I need a doctors referral?

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy. However, your insurance company may require one before they will reimburse you for any physiotherapy treatment (see your individual policy). Veterans do need a doctors referral to have a limited number of their treatments covered.

Is physiotherapy covered by MSP?

Physiotherapy treatment cost is only partially covered by MSP if you are eligible for MSP premium assistance. There is a user fee of $27.00 per visit to access this service and you receive up to 10 visits per year. Please note that these 10 visits are combined with other health care providers such as chiropractors and registered massage therapists, not 10 visits per provider.

Are your physiotherapists registered?

Yes, all of our physiotherapists are licensed to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of BC. They have completed a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited university program.

Do you see people in long term care residences?

Yes. We go into both public and private long term care and assisted living residences.

Do you see only "seniors"?

No. Our primary focus may be on the frail, elderly folks but...we see you "zoomers" as well! We really see anyone, any age and even have a few children out there. Generally, if you feel you need more one on one attention or cannot get to a clinic, we will come to you. Great in the acute phases of injuries and to bridge gaps while awaiting public programs.
